Wilorco was founded in 1964 by two entrepreneurs to design and build custom military DC to DC converters and power supplies.
During the middle 1960's, with the "cold war" at its height, the Company thrived and was awarded many major contracts including the design and production of power supplies for the Seawolf submarine, the Navy Phalanx Defense System and the Voyager Satellite Program.
The Phalanx is still the prime defense system used by most of the world's navies against incoming missiles.
Today, Wilorco is still aiding the world's defense with DC to DC converters designed into the Eurofighter, custom power supplies in Lockheed Martin's Organic Airborne Mine Countermeasures (OAMCM) program and Current Transducers in Boeing's Delta series of rockets..
Wilorco's major customers include most of the Prime Defense Contractors including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, L-3 Communications, Teledyne and others.
In May of 2001 the Company, eager to expand, was acquired by Strike Technology Inc.
At the same time, Strike Technology Inc. also acquired the Manufacturing line and inventory of Supertek, a manufacturer of Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers (TWTA) and High voltage power supplies. This has now been folded into Wilorco production, giving Wilorco both High and Low voltage power supply capability.
Although Strike Technology Inc. has appointed all new management, many of the manufacturing and test personnel have 20 to 25 years tenure with Wilorco allowing continuity of existing Program production.
Wilorco's main Research, Development and Manufacturing is located in a modern facility in Long Beach, CA. USA with an additional manufacturing area in Torrance, CA. USA.
